Keel Club

The Keel of a great ship is the main timber of the ship's bottom.  It extends from stem to stern and supports the whole frame.

At the bottom of every good and significant human effort we find a leadership group that gives the organization strength, character, purpose and longevity that distinguishes it from all others.  United Way of Erie County draws its strength and character from its leadership group - the Keel Club.  This leadership effort has given United Way of Erie County its purpose and stability.  For this reason, United Way wants to emphasize the importance and dedication of these leaders.  United Way is highlighting this group because we know a keel doesn't just happen, it is carefully designed and laid through the efforts of many people working together for a single purpose.

Members of the Keel Club, through their contributions and support of United Way, have joined together with other concerned individuals in providing the framework upon which the rest of the community and United Way can build.

Like a keel that is strengthened by various materials, United Way's Keel Club is strengthened by the personal efforts of its leaders, as well as their financial support.
