The Board of Directors of United Way of Erie County consists of many diverse people. The Board Members volunteer their time, energy and resources to oversee the organization.

Mark A. Yocum
Board President
Sandusky Register, Director of Advertising Operations
Term 2011-2013
Mark lives in Huron Township and has been part of the Erie County community for the past 12 years. Mark is originally from Steubenville, Ohio and is a graduate or Steubenville High School and the University of Akron with a B.A. in Mass Media/Communications. Mark has been in the newspaper advertising business for the past 30 years. The first 18 were with Thomson Newspapers, Inc. and he worked at their Steubenville, Ohio, Canton, Ohio, and Meadville, PA newspapers prior to his career bringing him to the Sandusky Register.
Mark joined the United Way Board of Directors in July of 2009 and also serves as Co-Chair of the PR committee. He has been involved with various Erie County Chamber of Commerce committees and is a member of the Ohio Newspaper Association.
Deborah Wierzba

Deb Wierzba currently serves as a board member of the United Way of Erie County Board of Directors and has served on the Board since May, 2009. Deb was elected as Treasurer of the Board in September, 2010. Deb also serves on the Audit and Finance Committees.
Peter Kowalski, Jr.,

Vice President, Mack Iron Works, Co.

Peter and his wife of 25 years, Marsha live in Perkins Township and have two sons, Shepard and Garrett. Mr. Kowalski is Vice President of the Mack Iron Works Company and has been with Mack Iron since October of 1983. He graduated from The Ohio State University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and is a Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Ohio. Peter has been a member of the United Way of Erie County Board of Directors since 2001. He is the Chairperson of the Governance Committee of Sandusky Central Catholic School (SCCS), has served on the SCCS Board of Directors for seven years, including five years as the Board’s President and is involved in ministry committees of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Sandusky. He is a member of the Kiwanis Club of Sandusky, the Leadership Erie County Curriculum Committee, The Ohio State University Alumni Club of Erie County, and the LEADS Alumni Association. He is past Chairman of the Erie County Human Resources Association, past President of the Sandusky Chapter of the International Management Council, served on the Board of Trustees of the Sandusky YMCA and also Perkins School district’s FACTS Advisory Committee. He holds professional memberships in the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), American Welding Society (AWS), the American Society of Nondestructive Testing (ASNT) and the Sandusky Area Safety Council (SASC).
Charles Pascoe

Charles Pascoe currently serves as a board member of United Way of Erie County Board of Directors and is Chairman of the Community Investment Committee. He has held the position of President and has served the Board since 1971.
Meg Chrislip
First Merit Bank
Term 2011-2013
Meg Chrislip and her husband, Bruce, have a passion for the welfare and rescue of Greyhounds. Meg was very active on the Board of Norwalk United Fund, and when her previous job at National City Bank transferred her to Sandusky, she wanted to serve a local agency. Meg is currently employed at First Merit Bank in Huron. Meg currently serves as a board member of the United Way of Erie County Board of Directors and has served on the Board since October, 2007. Meg also serves on the Business and Operations Committee.

Sandi Foster currently serves as a board member of the United Way of Erie County Board of Directors and has served on the Board since September, 1994. Sandi currently serves as Chairperson of the Business and Operations Committee, and serves on the PR and Community Investment Committees

Ben Lindsley currently serves as a board member of the United Way of Erie County Board of Directors and has served on the Board since January, 1979. Ben also serves on the PR Committee, the Small Business Blitz Committee and is co-chair of the City of Huron Division of the annual Campaign.
Daniel R. Keller

Daniel Keller is married to Laura and they have three adult sons. Daniel graduated from Bowling Green State University and holds a Master's Degree in Business Administration. Daniel is very active in the community and has served on many business boards as well as non-profits boards. He currently serves as a board member of the United Way of Erie County Board of Directors and has served on the Board since April, 2001. Dan also serves as Chair of the Keel Ad Hoc Committee as well as serves on the Business and Operations Committee.
David Clark

David Clark currently serves as a board member of the United Way of Erie County Board of Directors and has served on the Board since March, 2010. Dave also serves on the PR Committee and assists with City of Huron Division of the Campaign.
Greg Sherman

Greg Sherman has served as Board Treasurer of the United Way of Erie County Board of Directors for over 15 years and has served on the Board since October, 1988. Greg also serves on the Finance Committee.

Twila Johnson currently serves as a board member of the United Way of Erie County Board of Directors and has served on the Board since January, 1995.

Carole Rompe currently serves as a board member of the United Way of Erie County Board of Directors and has served on the Board since April, 2007. Carole serves on the Business and Operations Committee.
Leon J. Wieber
Retired President, Key Bank/Sandusky
Leon Wieber currently serves as a board member of the United Way of Erie County Board of Directors and has served on the Board since Janaury, 1987. Lee also serves on the Finance Committee.
Sue Kimball
Director Patient Access., Firelands Regional Medical Center
Sue Kimball currently serves as a board member of the United Way of Erie County Board of Directors and has served on the Board since December, 1998. Sue was elected as Vice President of the Board in September, 2010. She also serves on the PR Committee.

Elisa Prout
Executive Administrative Manager of Sandusky International
Elisa and her husband, Skip, live in Sandusky. Elisa is the Executive Administrative Manager at the Sandusky International Division of MetalTek International and has been with Sandusky International since 1978. She is a LEADS graduate and has been involved with several different projects for various United Way agencies. Cooking is one of her greatest passions and is happy to be able to bring families together at meal time through her "Thyme For You" Personal Chef Service and as an Independent Consultant for The Pampered Chef.

United Way of Erie County seeks individuals to join our many committees to enhance the knowledge and expertise of the Board. Once selected and approved, interested persons are appointed as at-large committee members and assigned to a Committee of the Board. While there are no term limits for at-large committee members, their participation is reviewed annually.
